Post Op Stuff

This will be totally boring to some people but ring some bells with others I am sure...My hubbie had to have some abdominal surgery a few weeks back, and he is now home....GULP! While I am so pleased to have him home and recuperating..he is awfy hard work.. I have retired from nursing [ only 6 weeks ago ] BUT find myself with my 'hat' back on but the patient NOT LISTENING!!!!

Only when we go to the surgery and see the GP or Stoma Nurse does he listen and does what they suggest for a wee whiley...I feel I am going maaaaaaaad!

However, there is at last light at the end of the tunnel....Exactly 6 weeks from the date of his surgery - he suddenly announced that he was feeling better...Hurrah!!!!
He is also sleeping better...good... eating better..good..mood better?? well 2 out of threes no bad, eh??!?

Just one more complaint about 'him' he told the Stoma Nurse that he was a bit 'sore' after hanging out the washing!!!! Gosh I nearly hit him with me handbag!!

I already had hung out my washing and went shopping, when i came home he had brought one lot in and hung out the stuff in the machine...!!

Time for making dinner for this invalid and hope he continues to improve cause I love him really and my Cruise is in 2 weeks!! ha ha!!

PRINTER TROUBLE

Hey, this is me reporting back to say that at last I have got my printer working again..! It's not working great, but its a step forward...maybe I will get that bloke in again, who has a brain for computers...huh!

GREENHOUSE STUFF

I was potting on my sunflowers tonite, grown from seed, when i had to stop for dinner. Well, I happened to fancy a wee glass of wine with my meal, delicious. On going back out to finish the job, I topped up my glass and the radio was with me anyway, I spent the next wee while slurping away and potting away...then had a wee chat on the phone with a couple of friends, and as it was getting dark, lit a few candles [ yes still in the greenhouse] and another wee top up, all in all a very pleasant evening...all the while hubby was watching that da** telly....What fun this retirement is.......... : )

Time for a new black ink cartridge

I WISH MY BRAIN WOULD RETAIN THE STUFF FOR THIS COMPUTER...IT TAKES ME AGES TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO CHANGE A CARTRIDGE..HUH! Oops ! just realised i was shouting...sorry to deafen whoever is reading this - ha ha!

Me, Myself and I

I have spent the last 3 weeks living on my own for the 1st time since I was 19yrs old....and I must say how much I have enjoyed, no, loved it...!

How I had forgotten to shop for the food that I like, instead of fitting in with what hubbie likes and to save waste, just have the same food...also saves cooking two meals.

Although I am looking forward to having him home any day now, I will be paying more attention to what I want to eat, what I want to watch on television or not, where to go or not go, stay in or go out...I have learned to listen to ME....its taken long enough, I will be 65 soon!!

Retired at last!!

Hey, what freedom!!! I feel as if a weight has dropped from my shoulders...retired from my day job on the 31st March and Hubbie retired on the 19th March...so nice to decide on the day what to do, ect.......UP, UP, AND AWAY ON MY BEAUTIFUL BALLOON !

Retirement Coming Up !!!

Hurray ! 4 weeks until I retire from my 'Day Job'....I can't wait to have a lie in when I want, have a day off when I want, collect my 'wages' when I want, go on holiday when I want, OOOOPS! Could be something missing...that wee salary every month....but hey no stress........ : )

Amazing Alaska 2009

My Hubbie and I were lucky enough to cruise to Alaska last year from Vancouver.
It was an amazing experience, one that I will never forget.

The Hills of Arran

Just thinking its about time for a wee trip over to Arran.......1 hour on the ferry and you feel as if you are miles and miles from home.

Its such a beautiful island with very friendly folk

and of course the tearooms, restaurants, Brodick

Castle + gardens, Golf, Beaches, Goat Fell [ the highest peak to climb] lovely walks and good old

fresh air......oh yes and some pubs for a wee refreshment!

Ladies who Lunch

Today I met a dear friend for a lunch and a glass of wine or 2....We had such a laugh and also put the world to rights...hope to meet again soon for more of the same! Cheers, Mrs S...
